This week in pottery class...                         MAY 12 - May 16

We will begin to plan our final wheel thrown project.
There will be a lot to do this week so do not give up.

Monday we will start the wheel and attempt to throw in teams.
Each team will consist of 2 people and they will get on a wheel and
throw two items.
One person will center the clay
The other person will open and bring up the clay.
Both projects will need to be the exact same size, shape and style.
    Planning will be necessary.

Tuesday the teams will trim their projects on the wheel with each trimming their own project.
I will do an evaluation of how much you have improved from your first project until now.
If I see improvement your grade will increase.  If you are the same it will remain the same.  If you cannot show proficiency you may loose points for you production skills.  This evaluation will be for the potter's wheel only.  It will be worth 25 points for the two days of work.

Wednesday students will work in the classroom on new painting techniques for our final project.
There will be a substitute on this day as I have to somewhere else that day.

Thursday the projects that are fired will be glazed with the new painting technique.  (masking is the new technique.

Friday we will continue to learn to evaluate and critique our work and the work of other people.

Be happy guys you have done well and I am proud of you!!!
